The Customer Service Representative I is an entry-level position responsible for assisting customers with billing, payments, and service-related inquiries. This role requires a strong background in customer service and cash handling, along with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced office environment.
- Provide courteous and professional assistance to customers in person, by phone, and through email
- Process cash, check, and electronic payments accurately and securely
- Assist with billing inquiries, account updates, and service requests
- Assist customers with new service
- Issue service orders to field staff and follow up with those orders
- Support plumbing permitting processes and related administrative tasks
- Resolve customer concerns and escalate issues when necessary
- Maintain accurate records and perform general office duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous customer service experience required
- Strong background in cash collections and handling
- General office knowledge, including use of computers and office equipment
- Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and communicate effectively
- Previous experience in utilities or banking preferred
