The Facilities Custodian Professional is responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment across all building areas. This role involves performing a wide range of cleaning and minor maintenance tasks to ensure facilities meet health and safety standards.
- Maintain floors by sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, and waxing.
- Empty and clean trash receptacles; collect and dispose of recycling materials.
- Clean, sanitize, and restock bathrooms.
- Operate, clean, and maintain custodial equipment as needed.
- Perform minor repairs on furniture, buildings, and equipment.
- Report safety, sanitary, or fire hazards to the appropriate department.
- Lock and unlock windows, doors, and gates as required.
- Ensure outdoor and grounds areas remain clean and orderly.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous custodial and grounds experience preferred.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable with squatting, twisting, bending, and kneeling during tasks.
- Working knowledge of custodial methods, techniques, and materials.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Familiarity with operating, caring for, and storing custodial equipment and supplies.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Time management and ability to work independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills for minor repairs.
