CTL Machine Operator

Job Description

All Metals is a trusted name in the metal processing industry, committed to delivering high-quality products and exceptional service. We are currently seeking a skilled and safety-conscious CTL Machine Operator to join our team.

As a CTL Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining cut-to-length machinery to process metal coils into sheets according to customer specifications. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and quality.

What you will do:

- Preplan Work by combining orders, finish ID’s, coils are staged and Helper and Setup personnel are prepared.

- List Information on the CTL Shift Report and Inspection Sheet as completed with blue or black ink.

- Verify coil # matches S/O.

- Inspect coil for edge damage, material type and rust.

- Measure and record width of coil, if out of spec notify CSR.

- Position Coil on uncoiler and feed to entry crop shear.

- Crop off any damage. Note on inspection sheet.

- Visually check CTL head for horizontal clearance and arbors are parallel.

- Feed thru slitter head.

- Inspect for surface defects i.e. full center, damage, white rust, etc.

- Vernier width and mic thickness. Record readings, if out of spec notify CSR.

- Check condition of drag pads

- Check if underarm assembly is in position

- Raise pit table and feed molts thru to the roller tensioned.

- Check clearance on the under assemble for alignment.

- Check if over arm assembly is in position

- Feed to recoil and lockup in the drum.

- Check if molts nest in under arm.

- Adjust Tension on drag pads.

- Run to finish to OD per S/O

- Assist Helper and Set up person as needed

- Break, tape and off load.

- Notify crane operator before a line backup occurs.

- Record necessary data and complete forms.

- Check Inventories and report low levels to Plant manager

- Keep work area clean. Good Housekeeping involves continually direct personnel to remove clutter and mop floor.

Qualifications:

- Have strong work ethics oriented to working as a team.

- Positive attitude.

- Being punctual.

- Familiar with performing with minimal supervision.

- Familiar with crane and forklift.

- Communicate well with company personnel

- Familiar with following written and verbal instructions.

- Familiar with crane and forklift.

- Familiar with coil metal products and characteristics exhibited

in cutting metal.

- Familiar with the operations of a CTL.
