About Island Gold District: Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. - Start-up, operation, routine monitoring and inspection, and shut-down of all crushing plant equipment, whenever the Crusher Plan Operator is unavailable;
- Adjust and check crusher setting as prescribed
- Perform visual inspections of the crushing equipment and fine ore bin level
- Carry out routine maintenance of conveyors and conveyor components
- Adjust rate of plant feed and balance between crushers to avoid equipment overload
- Verify lubrication of crushing equipment;
- Remove tramp iron and wood from the jaw crusher feed;
- Clean the metal recovery system;
- Unblock equipment when necessary;
- Verification of conveyor chute and operation of dust removal systems;
- Operate mobile equipment to supply the mill with reagents, grinding media etc.
- Maintain plant housekeeping
- Cleaning of jaw crusher grease during day-shift;
- Progress to Crushing Plant Operator
- All other activities as assigned by the Mill Supervisor.
- Previous work experience in a mining or industrial work environment is preferred.
- Completed Secondary School Diploma or GED
- Good communicator, good physical abilities, able to work independently and within teams, and able to work different schedules.
Must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather and conditions. This will be 7 day on 7 day off rotation, 12 hr shifts.
This is a physically demanding job where the incumbent is required to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects on a regular basis, do repetitive tasks with few breaks, and so forth.
