We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Cost of Quality Lead.
This role plays a critical role in establishing, documenting, and standardizing Cost of Quality (COQ) practices across major projects. The position is responsible for defining, tracking, and analyzing the full spectrum of COQ categories—including prevention, appraisal, internal failure, and external failure costs—with a primary focus on construction, installation, and commissioning phases. Additionally, the COQ Lead will drive continuous development and improvement of COQ categories, ensuring that findings directly inform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA) processes.
- Document, categorize, and maintain COQ categories across all active project sites.
- Develop and continuously improve COQ categories to capture true cost drivers and integrate into RCA and CAPA actions.
- Partner with Project Quality Managers, Construction Managers, and Commissioning teams to establish consistent data capture and reporting standards.
- Build and implement dashboards to monitor trends, drive visibility, and measure cost impacts of quality issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to identify systemic issues driving COQ and collaborate with Continuous Improvement teams to ensure effective CAPA.
- Support lessons learned reviews and embed findings into future projects to reduce overall COQ.
- Provide monthly COQ reporting to leadership and recommend initiatives to reduce quality-related costs while enhancing reliability and safety.
- Collaborate with Finance to validate and quantify COQ data for project and enterprise-level reporting.- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
- 8+ years of quality, operations, or project management experience within oil & gas, EPC, or large-scale industrial construction, with demonstrated expertise in Cost of Quality (COQ) frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of COQ frameworks, RCA, CAPA, and quality management systems (ISO 9001 preferred).
- Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and cost-saving initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with cross-functional teams.
