The CSU Automation and Controls Specialist is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day DCS and controls related commissioning execution activities on all assigned projects in a safe and efficient manner. This role supports the ICE Coordinator with development of the CSU Execution Plan, schedule and resourcing requirements necessary to complete all required control integration and controls and automation project scope. This role will be expected to liaise with onsite DCS and controls groups to ensure seamless integration. This role oversees 3rd party commissioning activities including coordinating and prioritizing commissioning contractors and vendor scope as necessary to maintain and achieve commissioning and start up milestones. The CSU Automation and Controls Specialist will also provide troubleshooting and parts sourcing support for vendors and contractors as required to eliminate schedule delays and roadblocks. The CSU Automation and Controls specialist is accountable to ensure ongoing execution alignment with the construction team for the successful delivery of project scope.

This role is an active role requiring the specialist to both manage 3rd party resources as well as execute work with time on tools associated with their respective qualifications and competencies. Time on tools varies depending on project demands and falls within the Project Execution portion of their duties accounting for anywhere between 0 and 40% of a specialist’s time.

Qualifications:

~ Computer Science Degree or Instrumentation Engineering Technology Diploma or Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma or Journeyperson Electrician/ Instrumentation and Control Technician Certificate(s) (Required)

~ Certified Engineering Technologist (Asset)
