Member of a power customer contract team responsible for more than 10,000 power supply and related contracts that secure TVA’s right to more than $10 billion of annual revenue. Work includes a broad scope of independently drafting, reviewing, interpreting, and administering contracts; also independent project management, and program administration activities. Independently engages directly with internal customers to identify and assess business documentation needs. Develops and implements innovative solutions through effective project management. Responsible for identifying and implementing best practices in the development of business documentation (including contracts), program implementation, and program and contract administration. Consults with internal and external business partners to provide documentation solutions that meet business objectives in the most direct way.
- Serve as subject matter expert on drafting, interpreting, and analyzing contracts.
- Coordinates and leads project/program/product activities among multiple TVA organizations, e.g., Rates & Pricing, Demand Side Pricing, Revenue & Billing, Office of the General Counsel, Energy Efficiency & Demand Response, Customer Relations, Transmission, and Economic Development.
- Independently engages internal and external business partners to assess and meet their business documentation needs.
- Independently prepares project plans, establishes milestones, and monitors progress of specific projects to ensure goals and objectives are met.
- Supports the development, implementation, and administration of TVA programs.
- Independently develops and makes recommendations to management to address strategic contract issues.
- Proactively supports the continuous improvement of organizational health by, among other things, mentoring engineers/contract writers, analysts, and business support representatives, providing honest, constructive feedback, and working with a positive attitude.
- Maintains extensive knowledge of TVA’s technology resources and uses them to document business relationships and transactions.
- Responsible for providing senior-level support to the Pricing & Contracts organization on various company-wide projects and teams.
Education. — Bachelor’s degree. MBA, JD, or other post graduate degree required.
Experience. — Five or more years of contract related experience which includes drafting, interpreting, coordinating, resolving legal/contractual issues and/or development related to contract templates. Prior utility experience is desirable.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities — Strong project management skills and business/legal acumen. Excellent reading comprehension skills. Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements. The ability to develop, implement, and accurately interpret program documentation, including contracts. Ability to produce high quality, error-free work under pressure and meeting tight deadlines. Very strong written and oral communications skills.
