Construction Surveyor (RMWB local)

Overview

Insite Surveys Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Construction Surveyor to support ongoing O&G projects in the Fort McMurray, Alberta area. This role is ideal for a local professional who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and has a strong background in field surveying and construction operations.

Responsibilities

- Perform construction layout, staking, and as-built surveys

- Operate survey equipment including GNSS & Total Station

- Interpret engineering drawings and site plans

- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site crews

- Ensure accuracy and quality of survey data and deliverables

- Maintain field notes, reports, and documentation

- Adhere to safety standards and site procedures at all times

Requirements

- Minimum 3–5+ years of construction surveying experience

- Strong experience in O&G, heavy civil, or industrial projects

- Proficient with survey equipment (primarily Trimble)

- Experience with field software and data workflows

- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to site daily (local to Fort McMurray)

- Must be willing to work a rotation schedule (10/4 or similar)

Nice to Have

- Underground locate experience

- UAV pilot license or willing to pursue

- 3D Scanning experience
