Hazen & Sawyer is seeking a Construction Inspector to support the construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities and infrastructure. The selected candidate will inform the CM team by observing and reporting on construction activities, effectively coordinating and collaborating with the project team members, and providing documentation and inspection activities for various water and wastewater facilities and infrastructure.

- Conduct on-site observation, monitoring, inspection, and evaluation of construction activities
- Verify and track work in accordance with approved shop drawing submittals
- Observe contractor performance and compliance with safety requirements
- Prepare daily reports, verify material quantities, Time and Material (T&M) records and review contractor pay applications
- Monitor construction contractor’s adherence to project schedule and sequence of activities related to daily field observations
- Maintain project redline and as-built drawings
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with the CM Project team, multi-discipline engineering teams, contractors and third-party inspection/testing firms
- Assist and coordinate with project start-up, testing checkout and training activities
- Maintain construction inspection and testing related documentation as necessary
- Minimum 5 years of construction / construction observation experience
- Familiarity with construction methods typical of civil, structural, mechanical and/or electrical engineering work
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Experience working on and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Willing to travel to projects in the local area as needed
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related PC software packages used on construction projects. Microsoft Excel and Procore Construction Management Software will be utilized daily.
- Experience in municipal water and wastewater or similar industry construction inspection preferred
- Associate Degree in Engineering Science
- Construction Manager in Training (CMIT - Construction Manager Certification Institute/CMCI) Certification
