Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to join our dynamic team in the steel industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the estimating department, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing for projects, and managing the estimating process. This role requires strong leadership skills, an understanding of project management, and proficiency in various estimating software and computer skills.

Duties

•

Lead and manage the estimating team to ensure timely and accurate project bids.

•

Develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information for pricing.

•

Utilize Stack software to create detailed cost estimates and proposals.

•

Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.

•

Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather data for accurate pricing.

•

Implement cost control measures to ensure project profitability.

•

Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.

•

Stay updated on industry trends, materials costs, and construction practices to provide informed estimates.

Experience

•

Proven experience in steel or construction estimating or a similar role within the construction industry.

•

Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.

•

Familiarity with cost control processes and methodologies in construction projects.

•

Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in pricing strategies.

•

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present information clearly.
