The Estimator plays a critical role in supporting our project development and bidding processes. The position is responsible for reviewing customer RFQ's, assisting with proper sizing and selection of system components, and all aspects of bidding on a project, including labor and material requirements for mechanical and electrical systems. These systems typically include mechanical equipment, pumps, valves, instrumentation, and fabrication of process piping and structural skids for modularized systems, etc. Custody transfer oil and gas measurement knowledge is a plus. The Estimator contributes directly to project profitability by ensuring comprehensive and competitive bids aligned with project specifications and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
•Responsible for developing cost estimates for bids and contract revisions.
•Prepare proposals and Bills of Materials (BOMs) aligned with project specifications.
•Perform preliminary sizing and component selection on systems per project requirements.
•Participate in the administration of bids, inquiry documents, scope of work, and schedules related to the job.
•Collaborate with customers, vendors, and other personnel in defining the scope of work and specifications.
•Apply relevant industry standards and codes to estimate preparation and project specifications.
•Assist with technical compliance during the design, procurement, and construction phases of awarded projects.
•Perform other duties as assigned to support the Engineering/Design department.
Qualifications:
•A minimum of 5 yrs. experience in an costing position or equivalent hands-on field experience with fabricated equipment.
•Strong knowledge of fabrication, piping, structural, and packaged systems.
•Proficient in reading specs, drawings, AML's, and P&ID's
•Proficient knowledge in industry standards is a plus.
•Advanced MS Excel skills; proficiency in MS Office Suite.
•Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines.
•High attention to detail and accuracy.
•Professional demeanor and strong communication skills.
•Familiarity with oil and gas measurement systems and API standards (preferred).
•Electrical and instrumentation knowledge (preferred).
