Connection Design Engineer

Structural steel contractor located in Columbia, SC seeks connection design engineer to design structurally sound connections in accordance with AISC procedures to meet prescribed loads from contract documents and standards and preferences for fabrication and erection efficiency. Designs must be communicated to structural steel detailers for incorporation in 3D modeling software for the productions of shop drawings. This is a remote position. However, the engineer is expected to commute to the Columbia SC headquarters facility twice per week.

Requirements:

Master’s degree in civil engineering* Professional engineering licensure* AutoCAD* MathCAD* Excel* RAM Structural Systems* modeling expertise with at least one FEM program such as RISA and STAAD* structural steel drawings and familiarity with Tekla* consulting engineering with an emphasis in structural steel building* Remote position requiring commute to the Columbia SC headquarters facility twice per week.*
