•Responsible for finalizing product designs, stack-ups, and manufacturing drawings, including material selection, manufacturing processes, assembly sequences, and packaging of electronic Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) within mechanical housings/enclosures.
•Analyze and understand customer specifications to ensure product standards and performance requirements are met.
sketching and creating A-class styling curves/surfaces
to align with customer studio designs, preferably using
CREO CAD software
.
•Perform surface quality checks and generate neutral models for customer studio approval.
•Develop components, assembly structures, and BOM breakdowns based on product dimensions and specifications using
CREO CAD
.
•Adhere to mechanical design guidelines and perform quality checks according to design checklists.
FEA
, plastic injection mold flow analysis, and lighting simulation CAE reports to interpret results and make design improvements.
•Participate in design review meetings and contribute to
DFMEA
,
DFM
, and design improvement processes.
•Create 2D manufacturing drawings applying
Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
at both component and assembly levels.
•Calculate tolerance stack-ups, perform analyses with applied GD&T, and implement changes to improve design functionality using sound engineering principles.
Windchill
(or similar PLM tools) to manage and back up design data, including CAD files, drawings, stack-ups, FEA results, and analysis reports.
•Finalize designs for prototype kick-off based on review meetings and approvals.
•Validate components and assemblies to ensure compliance with customer engineering specifications through various test procedures.
•Conduct design reviews and implement changes to enhance prototype functionality and resolve failures.
•Support product finalization for production launch, ensuring readiness for production volumes.
•Design fixtures to support various test setups and review dimensional inspection reports to approve parts for production builds.
•Develop design studies and innovative concepts for new mechanism projects.
•Create CAD models for complete mechanism assemblies with minimal guidance from engineering teams.
