The Compression Mechanic is responsible for overseeing the daily operation and maintenance of compressors and all associated equipment. This role serves as the primary liaison between compressor rental/service providers and field leadership, ensuring reliable compression performance, regulatory compliance, and safe operations. The position supports production efficiency through troubleshooting, preventive maintenance coordination, and gas lift system optimization.
- Oversee daily operations and maintenance of compressors and all associated equipment
- Serve as the primary point of contact between compressor rental/service companies and the Production Foreman and Maintenance Foreman
- Diagnose mechanical failures and determine root causes to prevent repeat issues
- Monitor compressor performance and support troubleshooting efforts, including environmental and operational concerns
- Support EH&S teams to ensure compliance with air emissions permits and environmental regulations
- Coordinate with operations staff on compressor adjustments related to gas lift systems
- Assist with planning and execution of preventive maintenance (PM) schedules
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety standards and company procedures- Minimum 3+ years of oil & gas compression experience in field operations and maintenance
- Hands-on experience with operation, monitoring, and maintenance of gas compressors and associated equipment
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, including identifying root causes of compressor failures
- PEC Safeland Certification (must be current and obtained prior to start; not older than 60 months)
- Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test (UA), MVR, agility and fit for duty.
