Position
ORLEN Upstream Canada (OUC) belongs to the Capital Group of PKN ORLEN SA, one of the largest petroleum and petrochemical corporations in Central and Eastern Europe. OUC is now looking for a Completions Engineer to join our experienced team!
As a key member of the Drilling and Completions team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design and execution of completions and related downhole operations. This full-time permanent position is based in Calgary and reports to the Drilling and Completions Manager.
Responsibilities
•Coordinate the capital project execution for completion, workover and abandonment activities and ensure wells operations are executed safely and efficiently.
•Design and execute completion programs including horizontal multi–staged hydraulic fracturing operations via plug & perf, ball drop or CT annular designs.
•Collaborate with the technical team to determine the suitability of proposed fracture stimulations and optimize these designs over time.
•Coordinate with Construction, Drilling and Engineering and Production groups to ensure that the well design meets the life cycle goals of the wellbore, scheduled timelines and budget goals.
•Proactively stay current with industry related fracture stimulation methods, and technical advancement as they pertain to the asset base.
•Manage concurrent site operations.
•Coordinate operations with onsite supervisors on a daily basis.
•Track capital expenditures and perform lookback analysis to effectively evaluate production response and identify opportunities to increase value.
•Provide costs estimates and create AFEs for projects.
•Assist with abandonment planning and scheduling.
•Ensure regulatory requirements with respect to reporting and applications are met.
•Participant in Emergency Response and EOC event activities as requested.
•Some travel and field visit will be required.
•Active in OUC culture of safety and associated policies: code of conduct, business and ethics.
•Promote a positive image of ORLEN through your work with industry, regulatory and public partners.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
•Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and a member of APEGA or Petroleum Diploma with relevant education and experience is required.
•Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience with a minimum of 4 years directly related to completions.
•Knowledge of horizontal well completions in various plays, horizontal well stimulations (fracturing and acidizing), multi-stage fracturing, fracturing optimization, and concurrent pad operations.
•Proven ability draw-up, implement and supervise programs for subsurface operations including completions, workovers, suspensions and abandonments.
•Experience with gas-lift, pumping units and down hole pumping strategies.
•Experience in large fresh and produced water sourcing, handling, storage and tracking is required.
•Understanding of produced water recycling is an asset.
•Ability to manage multiple operations concurrently.
•Experience sourcing services within a documented procurement policy.
•Exceptional time management and risk management skills are required in order to meet deadlines, and adapt to changing company priorities.
•Promote leadership and a strong safety culture.
•Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Wellview, GeoScout, Microsoft Office
•Field experience is a valuable asset.
•Experience with deeper Montney and Cardium completions is an asset.
•Exposure to Drilling and Production Engineering would be an asset.
