Role Synopsis:
The Completions Optimization Engineer will work with senior technical optimization engineering staff and business unit teams to implement and deliver fracture stimulation optimization trials and analysis. Responsibilities include well/project diagnostic plans, post well fracture and production analysis, real-time fracture design support, industry benchmarking analysis, cost forecast analytics, and long-term completion design planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical drive and operational aptitude requiring minimal oversight and training. A track record of completion engineering experience in the Eagle Ford, Permian, and/or Haynesville unconventional reservoir is essential.
Key Accountabilities:
•Develop Completion Design Strategies: Create effective completion design plans and collaborate with assets to optimize current designs and methods.
•Enhance Completion Design: Provide essential technical support to improve production and operational efficiency.
•Industry Benchmarking: Analyze competitor performance and industry trends to inform strategic decisions.
•Well Diagnostic Planning: Design and execute diagnostic plans to assess and enhance completion effectiveness, evaluating new technology and presenting findings to cross-functional teams.
•Real-Time Design Modifications: Support immediate design modifications based on operational data and feedback.
•Collaboration Across Business Units: Work collaboratively with teams across all business units to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.
•Operational Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement initiatives for ongoing operational efficiency and share learnings with cross-functional teams.
•Communication and Reporting: Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and report on optimization efforts and outcomes while collaborating with completion engineers to share lessons learned.
•Field Visits: Conduct regular field visits to operations to support personal development and foster relationships with field personnel, aiding in new technology implementation.
Essential Education:
•Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Essential Experience and Job Requirements:
•5–10 years as a completion engineer with an independent or major oil company in the Eagle Ford, Permian, or Haynesville
•Track record optimizing completion design and operational performance with a drive for continuous improvement.
• Deep technical and operational understanding of stimulation and post stim tools and equipment.
• Proficient in fracture modelling (Gohfer and/or Resfrac), casing design analysis, and economic analysis.
• Experience in lab analysis of frac fluid chemistry, particularly friction reducers, clay stabilizers, and scale inhibitors.
• Strong presentation development and communication skills with experience influencing executive level leadership.
• Track record in the development and implementation of data analytic tools.
• Familiarity with Python, SQL, and/or R with a broad understanding of Snowflake, Alation, and Palantir a plus.
• An ability to travel with short notice up to 40% of time to fulfill operational oversite of trials and troubleshooting

How much do we pay (Base)? $140,000 - $190,000
•Note that the pay range listed for this position is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.
