The Communications Technician executes the delivery of planned maintenance, emergent break-fix and improvement activities in the support of telecom service delivery excellence. This role will play a pivotal role in operationalizing systems, implementing the maintenance strategy and lending subject matter expertise to the new Beaumont New Ammonia (BNA) plant in this critical phase before Project Completion and continue supporting it into the operate phase. This will be a Houston based role with routine travel to Beaumont.
- Telecommunications Subject Matter Expert for Woodside telecommunications infrastructure
- Assist in the pre and post execution of telecoms project support delivery
- Execution and coordination of planned maintenance activities along with frontline support for break fix
- Provide on-site physical support for IT/OT reactive and preventative maintenance, when required
- Active engagement in Health and Safety whilst delivering services within the plant environment including Woodside Field Leadership and maintaining appropriate training, accreditation and certification
- Ensure maintenance support is provided consistently within meaningful Service Levels
- Management of Change activities in compliance with Digital and Asset Operations Processes
- Maintain strong relationships with key external vendors to ensure telecom services are delivered up to standards and agreed service levels
- Improve service quality and using data to actively measure and report on the service and platform health
- Telecoms / Information Technology trade related Degree or relevant Certifications
- A minimum of five (5) years technician experience in the provisioning of telecom services
- Experience supporting telecom systems including PAGA, CCTV, Radio Systems (HF/UHF/VHF), Cellular/LTE, Entertainment Systems, Structured Cabling
- Proven ability to solve problems, multi-task, prioritise, guide and influence internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral
