This position partners closely with Marketing, Training, HR, QHSE, Sustainability, and Executive Leadership to translate strategy into clear, timely, and disciplined communications—particularly during periods of change, transformation, or heightened risk.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong judgment, prioritization, and the ability to operate calmly in fast-moving environments.
Enterprise Communications & Governance
- Own the
enterprise communications narrative
, ensuring one voice, tone, and storytelling framework across the company
- Establish and enforce
communications governance
, including review and approval of company-wide and sensitive messaging
- Serve as the authoritative reviewer for
all public-facing and enterprise communications
prior to release
- Maintain brand integrity, messaging consistency, and alignment with Nabors values and strategic priorities
- Serve as the
primary approval authority
for all external-facing communications, ensuring alignment with enterprise messaging, brand standards, and reputational risk considerations
- Lead internal communications for employees and leaders, including:
- Executive messages and memos
- Organizational updates and change communications
- All-hands, town halls, events and leadership talking points
- Develop executive-ready materials such as briefings, FAQs, speeches, and leadership decks
- Translate complex or technical topics into clear, actionable messaging for diverse global audiences
- Support response communications for incidents, crises, or sensitive matters in coordination with executive leadership, QHSE, Legal, and Corporate Affairs
- Prepare holding statements, internal alerts, FAQs, and leadership guidance as required
- Ensure speed, accuracy, and message discipline during high-risk situations
- Partner with
Marketing
to ensure alignment on:
- Website messaging and thought leadership
- External campaigns impacting enterprise reputation
- Collaborate with HR, Training, Sustainability, and Operations on enterprise initiatives, including:
- Change management and transformation messaging
- Safety and compliance campaigns
- ESG and sustainability communications
- Owns governance and oversight of all external communication channels, ensuring consistent standards, messaging discipline, and approval controls across all platforms, including websites, social media, press, publications, and third‑party distributions.
- Oversee planning, development, and delivery of internal content across:
- Intranet and SharePoint
- Executive and corporate email channels
- Internal campaigns and awareness initiatives
- Lead AI-forward communications enablement, including governance for the use of generative AI in content creation, review workflows, and employee guidance; identify and scale AI tools that improve speed, consistency, and quality across internal and external channels.
- Ensure messaging is intentional, prioritized, and sustainable—not reactive or fragmented
- Provide direction, prioritization, and coaching to communications resources (direct or matrixed)
- Set clear standards for quality, responsiveness, and stakeholder engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on communications risk, clarity, and impact
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field or equivalent
- 8–12+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, internal communications, or public affairs- Demonstrated experience supporting executive leadership and enterprise initiatives
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage sensitive communications with sound judgment and discretion
- Experience working in matrixed, complex, or global organizations
- Experience in energy, industrial, engineering, or operationally complex environments
- Background in communication, change management, transformation, or crisis communications
- Familiarity with governance models separating Marketing (growth) from Communications (enterprise trust)
- Experience partnering closely with Training, HR, QHSE, or Operations teams
- Demonstrated experience with AI-enabled communications (e.g., generative AI, automation, analytics) and the ability to translate evolving AI capabilities into responsible, audience-ready messaging and change adoption.
