Columbus Water Works is currently recruiting for a Communications Internto gain experience in the field of Communications at Columbus Water Works.
- Salary is $16 per hour
- At least 20 hours per week; Monday -Friday between 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Undergraduate: Qualified candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, obtaining a degree in Communications or Marketing, and have earned a minimum of 60 credit hours toward a bachelor's degree.
- Graduate: Qualified candidates must be currently enrolled in and have not yet graduated from a master’s degree program from an accredited college or university, obtaining a degree in Communications or Marketing.
- The duration of the internship may not exceed 24 consecutive months. Any exceptions will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: As a Communications Intern, you will be working with the Communications team at the Columbus Water Works. All tasks and projects will be done in a supporting role to the Manager of Communications, assisting with campaign research, video production, photo editing, graphic design, Social Media interaction, direct mailing, event photography, and other related tasks. Works under the direct supervision of the Manager of Communications.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Undergraduate: Qualified candidates must currently be enrolled and have earned at least 60 credit hours toward their bachelor's degree. Graduate: Qualified candidates must be currently enrolled in, and have not yet graduated from, a master’s degree program. The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated passion for communications, marketing, and/or brand management, leadership skills to approach each project with enthusiasm, and a clear focus. They must also possess strong analytical, organizational, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, the ability to forge strong, collaborative working relationships, and encourage creative solutions by effectively managing conflicts. The communications intern must be able to think strategically to envision possibilities and maintain a day-to-day strategic approach to issues and challenges. An ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube, and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop.
OBJECTIVE: Candidates will acquire practical experience in various areas of Communications and Marketing, such as social media management, content creation, writing, graphic design, document layout, and more.
