Commercial Overhead Door Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Garage Door Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of various types of garage doors and related hardware. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices and the ability to work effectively in a variety of environments, including residential and commercial settings. The technician will be expected to ensure that all installations and repairs meet safety standards and customer satisfaction.

Duties

- Install, repair, and maintain garage doors and openers.

- Assess customer needs and provide recommendations for service or replacement.

- Utilize hand tools and power tools to complete installations and repairs.

- Perform heavy lifting as required during installations or removals.

- Execute frame carpentry tasks to ensure proper fitting of garage doors.

- Conduct glass installation when applicable, ensuring proper sealing and safety measures are followed.

- Weld and fabricate parts as needed for custom installations or repairs.

- Collaborate with team members on construction sites to ensure timely project completion.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Skills

- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools relevant to garage door installation and repair.

- Experience in construction site environments with a solid understanding of safety practices.

- Knowledge of frame carpentry techniques for accurate door fitting.

- Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout the workday.

- Skills in welding and fabrication for custom solutions are highly desirable.

- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.

- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various conditions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
