Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Installs, troubleshoots, connects / disconnects and repairs wiring, motors, electrical fixtures and equipment.
- Performs daily equipment checks on all machines and tools used in his/her maintenance activities. Corrects or reports any deficiencies found .
- Performs fundamental pipefitting functions which includes measuring and cutting material, bending, threading, ream-pipe and conduit, assembling, disassembling and reassembling conduit arrangements.
- Documents equipment failures and works with reliability technicians to resolve reoccurring problems.
- Verifies spare part needs for electrical equipment in his/her area of responsibility and works with storehouse and planner to keep levels up to date.
- Coordinates his/her daily maintenance activities. Prioritizes work and pulls together all necessary resources to complete assigned tasks.
- Communicates effectively and works with technical and operational personnel to troubleshoot equipment problems and bring tasks to successful completion safely and efficiently.
- Assists with basic rigging which involves the selection and use of equipment for rigging and transporting materials and equipment.
- Assists other crafts with job tasks outside of his/her core assignment when necessary.
- Participates in weekly safety meetings and presents safety topics related to his/her field.
- Works under the guidance of a master electrician striving to complete all requirements to be advanced to Maintenance Tech 2.
- Maintains work area in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
- Follows all of HRC’s Code of Conduct Policies.
- Reports problems related to work immediately to supervisor.
- Provides after hours callout support, as needed.
- Will be expected to take and pass the Electrician Maintenance Tech 3 Test within one year of beginning assignment.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associates technical degree in Industrial Electricity preferred
- Two or more years related experience
- Knowledge of and working experience in personal computer use and applications.
- Must have a valid driver license
- Journeyman’s License preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires the individual to be certified to use respiratory protection which includes: fresh air work requiring a full-face mask and a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) weighing up to 35 lbs. Conditions during use could be routine maintenance or operations activities, emergency rescue or immediate danger of life and health. Use of such a device requires sufficient pulmonary and respiratory health and may preclude full beards or other obstructions preventing an adequate facial fit.
