CNC Programmer Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming and machining, with expertise in operating CNC lathes and milling machines. You will be responsible for creating precise programs that ensure the efficient production of high-quality components. Your role will involve collaborating with engineers and machinists to optimize manufacturing processes and maintain adherence to strict quality standards.

Duties

- Develop and implement CNC programs for lathes and milling machines using software such as Fanuc, SolidWorks, and CATIA.

- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining specifications.

- Utilize CAM programming tools to create detailed machining instructions.

- Conduct thorough inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).

- Apply GD&T principles to ensure compliance with design specifications.

- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to identify opportunities for process improvements through lean manufacturing techniques.

- Troubleshoot and resolve programming issues on the shop floor to minimize downtime.

- Maintain accurate documentation of programs, setups, and tooling requirements.

- Ensure adherence to safety protocols while operating machinery.

Experience

- Proven experience in CNC programming and operation within a manufacturing environment.

- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD) and familiarity with CAM programming tools.

- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and understand tooling requirements.

- Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus.

- Understanding of geometry and math principles as they relate to machining processes.

- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating strong problem-solving skills. Pay: $80,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
