CNC Lathe Machinist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe/Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts and components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, programming, and the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. The CNC Lathe/Machinist will ensure that all products meet stringent quality standards while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

- Set up and operate CNC lathes and milling machines according to specifications.

- Program CNC machines using appropriate software, including CAM programming.

- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications.

- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to ensure product accuracy.

- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot issues as they arise.

- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize manufacturing processes.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety standards.

- Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

Skills

- Proficient in CNC programming and operation of CNC milling machines and lathes.

- Strong knowledge of GD&T principles and blueprint reading.

- Familiarity with SolidWorks, CAD software, and electrical discharge machining is a plus.

- Mechanical knowledge with experience in manufacturing processes including plastics injection molding.

- Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tasks.

- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and tooling effectively.

- Experience with welding is advantageous.

- Forklift operation experience is preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
