Job Title: CNC Laser / Turret / Tube Laser Technician
Department(s): Operations FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Responsible for carrying out the daily duties of a CNC operator, including but not limited to: loading / editing programs at the machine control to achieve optimal production, dialing into laser, air, tool, or hydraulic settings to achieve perfection in pierce / cut quality, utilizing front end programming to schedule and execute work at the machine control, shaking sheets at the lasers and turrets, breaking nested tubes from the tube lasers, performing maintenance on the machinery every Monday morning (or first day of the week).

SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Education and Training: High school diploma or GED and technical training preferred.
Three (3) years of previous work-related skill, knowledge, and experience preferred.
- Must have proven abilities in communication, organization, setting priorities.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- The ideal candidate is hands-on, has a strong mechanical aptitude, enjoys fixing things, and is capable of successfully managing increasing complex engineering projects from inception through delivery.
- Ability to use a PC, in-house software, and Microsoft Office products to effectively administrate and organize departmental objectives.
- Prior mechanical training or background. Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Familiarity with standard tools and units of measurement.
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Ability to foster a close working relationship with team members and management.
- Good understanding of mechanical and standardized processes.
- Ability to use problem solving methods and techniques to resolve problems successfully and efficiently.
- Well organized. Ability to work well under pressure, manage competing demands and meet tight deadlines with strong follow through.
- Unlimited or unimpaired ability to walk, bend, stoop, and climb. Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Capacity to work as a member of a team or by oneself to achieve desired results.
- Be able to safely operate a variety of stationery or portable hand and power tools.
- Ability to read, comprehend and utilize work orders, prints, CAD/technical drawings, labor reports, and any numerical data related to effectively managing department outcomes.
- Ability to use a Personal Computer to manipulate Global Shop software data related to job scheduling, job tracking, labor and time/attendance data. Working knowledge of a Microsoft Windows environment.
Seeing: Must be able to read reports, use computer, see in dimly lit/confined spaces, read a tape measure or other measuring device.
Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, identify machine sounds
