Position Summary: We are seeking a reliable and experienced Laser Operator to join our metal fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting machines to produce precision metal parts according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, a strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and quality. Hourly wage $20+, based on experience of candidate. 4x10 Shift, Monday thru Thursday.
- Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines (e.g. Amada, Bystronic, Mitsubishi, etc.)
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders
- Select proper materials, load and unload beds and input correct machine parameters
- Monitor cutting process to ensure parts meet quality and tolerance specifications
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of laser equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine and quality issues
- Unload, inspect and deburr finished parts as needed
- Keep accurate records of production and report any discrepancies
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures
- Required:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–2+ years of experience operating CNC laser equipment (preferred)- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with CNC programming or nesting software (e.g. Metacam, SigmaNest, etc)
- Strong math and measurement skills (calipers, micrometers, tape measures)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and team-oriented attitude
- Preferred:
- Forklift certification or material handling experience
- Knowledge of metal types (steel, aluminum, stainless, etc.)
- Experience in other fabrication processes (e.g., forming, welding, punching)
