Class A Structural Welder

Allstate Steel Company is an AISC certified structural steel fabricator and has been certified by the American Institute of Steel Companies since 1992. We manufacture all structural and miscellaneous components at our headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida.

We are seeking a qualified structural steel Fitter / Welder to join our team immediately.

Principal Responsibilities:

- Understand and make any piece required with equipment in the shop.

- Layout and fabricate all complex required fabrication assembles.

- Understand shop drawings and fabricate stairs, railings, all misc. metals.

- Label material with welding symbols.

- Understand and fabricate per ALL AESS requirements.

- Read and understand basic and complex shop drawings (trusses, complex bevels, etc.)

- Total knowledge and use of all required tools of the trade.

- Ability to set all welding machines and weld within required welding parameters.

- Ability to multi-task, work mistake free.

- Work safely and within the required daily production schedule.

- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand for long periods of time

- Ability to grip members

- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds

- Possess good eyesight and hearing

- Withstand continuous lifting

- Withstand harsh environments with exposure to extreme heat and sometimes cold in plant with no temperature control

Basic Qualifications:

- Two (2) year experience in structural fitting

- Two (2) year experience in structural welding

- Must pass structural weld test

- Basic knowledge of mathematics, tape measures, sub detail parts

- Certified Overhead Crane Operator

- Certified 2F Tack Test

- High school diploma or GED

- Pass initial drug and alcohol testing

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
