Class A CDL Local Truck Driver w/Loader & Unloader Duties

East Kentucky Metal Sales, Inc. is hiring a full-time Warehouse/Driver Associate. This is a unique opportunity for candidates to utilize their CDL credentials while working with a team and learning the ins and outs of metal manufacturing from a reputable locally owned and operated company.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

- Perform all jobs involved in metal manufacturing, including making customer jobs to spec, handling materials, and operating heavy machinery required for each job. On-the-job training will be provided.

- Drive a variety of commercial motor vehicles, including tractor trailers and diesel trucks with gooseneck trailers. The majority of driving assignments are local to the region, and delivery assignments can usually be completed in one day.

- Work closely with co-workers and other Warehouse Associates to ensure customer orders are made and delivered accurately and timely.

- Help maintain a safe and clean environment.

- Adhere to all Federal Motor Carrier Regulations, including maintaining CDL and medical card and submitting to drug and alcohol testing as required.

Physical Requirements

- Operate commercial vehicles and heavy machinery and equipment

- Work outside and on the road

- Lift, push, and pull medium and heavy boxes and materials

- Sit and drive for extended periods of time

- Stooping, bending, and climbing

Skills

- Either (1) an active Class A CDL or (2) a CLP with intent to get CDL as soon as eligible (required).

- Experience in construction or building materials (preferred).

- Works well with a team and is able to communicate effectively, adapt to changing work environments, and be flexible.

Education

- High school or equivalent.

- Class A CDL or CLP.

Schedule

- 8 AM to 4:30 PM Monday – Friday.

- Some driving assignments may require extended weekday hours, but weekend hours are never required.

- Warehouse duties performed onsite at 977 E Hal Rogers Parkway, London, KY 40741.

- Driver duties generally performed within a day drive's radius.
