Job Title: Civil Tradesperson – Level 2

Location: Based in St. Louis, MO with travel throughout the Midwest.

Terms: Full-time

Hourly Range: $22-27/hour, depending on experience. R&S provides lodging and daily per diem during travel.

R&S Towers, Inc. specializes in the construction and maintenance of wireless infrastructure and currently works in Missouri and neighboring states. This position requires frequent travel and working in various weather conditions for irregular hours. About the role: You will utilize construction plans and various equipment to prepare sites for projects. You will travel extensively throughout the Midwest, most often leaving Monday and returning Friday. You will be working on 2-4 person crews, while diligently following safety procedures. As a Level 2 Tradesperson, you will help to train those less experienced and be able to work independently.

Responsibilities

Carpentry: Use hand and power tools to build, erect, install, and repair forms, structures, and fixtures made from wood and other materials.

Steelwork: Transport steel elements to site and separate offloading and working areas. Construct steel frames, supports, columns, reinforcements, and other structures. Verify alignment of steel elements using levels, plumb bobs, and laser sights.

Concrete: Build and set up forms, pour concrete, reinforce concrete with wire mesh, and apply waterproofing and sealant to protect the finished product.

Understand build sequence from start to finish and anticipate the next step, initiating tasks independently

Provide guidance and instruction to newer team members, offering explanation and correction when needed.

Be proficient with trailer safety, i.e. hook up, disconnect, and tie down protocols.

Operate equipment to dig, backfill, and grade.

Work independently of Foreman-level insight on simple job tasks.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid driver’s license. (Class A CDL preferred, or willingness and ability to obtain.)

A strong sense of pride-in-work and consistent workmanship.

Completion of various safety trainings

Ability to operate equipment to dig, backfill, and grade.

Pass an initial physical and drug screen/random future screens.

Ability to travel regularly and occasionally work weekends.

Follow directions well and learn quickly.

Be versatile, flexible, and willing to work in changing conditions and situations with enthusiasm.

Experience with directional drilling, hydro excavation preferred.
