Overview

We are seeking an experienced Estimator/Project Manager to join our heavy civil excavating and paving company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and estimating, with proficiency in cost control and contract negotiation.

Pay is based on experience.

Responsibilities

•

Bid all sized projects including: public works, state and federal as well as private commercial development.

•

Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals.

•

Collaborate with foremen and construction teams on-site to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.

•

Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive take-offs.

•

Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms.

•

Implement cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle to maintain budget adherence.

•

Prepare and present estimates to upper management, providing clear explanations of costs involved.

•

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and pricing to enhance estimating accuracy.

•

Provide cost breakdowns at the end of each project to analyze bid accuracy.

Qualifications .

•

Proven experience in estimating within the construction industry, with a strong understanding of construction site operations.

•

Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

•

Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations.

•

Solid understanding of cost control principles and practices in construction projects.

•

Ability to build strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.

•

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in estimating processes.
