Siema Construction is a respected second-generation heavy civil construction firm with over four decades of proven success in the industry. Our core competencies include heavy highway construction, site work, utilities, paving, special projects, and pavement restoration. We are seeking a qualified and experienced Estimator to join our team and contribute to the accurate development of cost estimates for civil infrastructure projects.
This role is ideal for a results-driven professional with extensive experience in heavy civil or highway project estimating. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting our project planning and bidding processes while collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
•Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare comprehensive cost estimates
•Perform quantity takeoffs for labor, equipment, and materials
•Lead the RFQ and solicitation process for subcontractors and vendors
•Utilize industry software such as HeavyBid, Trimble Business Center, and Primavera P6
•Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project scope and conditions
•Develop value engineering alternatives and ensure pricing accuracy
•Coordinate with project management, operations, and procurement teams during the preconstruction phase
Minimum Qualifications:
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating heavy highway, civil, or road construction projects
•Proficiency in HeavyBid, Trimble Business Center, Viewpoint, Microsoft Office, and P6 (Primavera)
•Strong analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills
•Proven knowledge in commercial concrete, utilities, and site work
•Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
•Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $72,800 – $125,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
Retirement: 401(k) with 100% company match up to 4%
