Job Overview
We are an electrical contractor seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial operations and drive the company’s long-term growth and stability. The CFO will oversee all financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, payroll, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and compliance, while providing strategic guidance to the leadership team. This role requires a hands-on leader with expertise in financial management, ideally within the construction or trades industry, who can balance high-level strategy with day-to-day financial oversight in a small business environment.
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's goals.
- Oversee corporate accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and fiscal management processes.
- Lead mergers & acquisitions initiatives to drive business growth.
- Conduct risk analysis and implement risk management strategies.
- Provide insights through market analysis and financial modeling to support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations, including tax filings, audits, and industry-specific requirements (e.g., lien waivers, prevailing wage laws).
- Supervise treasury management and cash flow optimization.
- Drive revenue management and oversee the revenue cycle management process.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports and interpret findings for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on business development initiatives.
- Manage payroll (50 employees), expense management, cost control, and budgeting processes.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team.
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance principles including profit & loss analysis, cost accounting, and technical accounting.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools for reporting and analysis.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on business development opportunities.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage teams effectively.
- In-depth understanding of governmental accounting practices as well as non-profit accounting where applicable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Experience in strategic planning with a focus on long-term fiscal health of the organization.
