- Oversee daily chemical plant operations, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.).
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate a team of operations support staff, setting clear performance expectations and providing regular feedback.
- Monitor production processes, equipment, and systems to ensure efficiency, quality, and adherence to operating procedures.
- Review batch records, production logs, and maintenance reports; investigate and resolve process or equipment issues.
- Enforce safe work practices, proper handling of hazardous materials, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure minimal downtime and continuous improvement.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, quality metrics, and safety incidents.
- Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
- Support inventory management of raw materials, chemicals, and finished products.
- Lead safety meetings, operator training, and compliance audits to ensure workforce readiness.
- Implement process improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for shift operations, escalating critical issues to plant management as needed
- EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science in related field of study, Engineering degree strongly preferred but not required
- EXPERIENCE: 3 -5 years of experience in operations, 1 - 3 years in supervisory or team lead position, exposure in Chemical operation preferred
