JOB SUMMARY

The Category Manager leads the development and execution of strategic sourcing, category management, and contract optimization initiatives to deliver best-in-class supply chain performance. This role ensures value creation, supplier performance, and cost efficiency while aligning category strategies with Seadrill’s global business objectives.

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Main Job Responsibilities

•

Effective implementation of a category management strategy that delivers recognizable cost savings and process optimization through improved supplier management programs

•

Develop and implement formalized supplier relationship management and performance programs with top strategic suppliers

•

Cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including end-users, project managers, engineers, and senior staff members

•

Prepare and execute tender documents and evaluation tools for sourcing events under a category strategy

•

Drives global supply chain standardization and cost savings through vendor and manufacturer consolidation

•

Negotiate or re-negotiate existing contracts, utilizing transparent tender processes, ensuring optimal commercial and legal terms are in place and approved vendor list process followed

•

Reviewing spending trends of direct and/or in-direct spend and pro-actively develop category strategies to leverage optimal pricing and terms

•

Mentor colleagues with problem resolution and guidance to ensure team goals and target KPI’s are met

•

Monitor global market trends, identify opportunities and potential issues and act upon them

•

Support the development of policies and procedures that ensure spend is addressed systematically to obtain optimal value and transparency

•

Ensure transparency of all active global master service agreements via the corporate contract repository tool

•

Develops pricing strategies that define the total cost of ownership of services and goods, including: source restrictions, lead times, logistics costs and location of suppliers in relation to source of supply

•

Drives the delivery of best value supply chain sourcing and pricing

•

Effectively executes change management processes when new suppliers introduced

•

Actively participate in projects or process optimization initiatives offering suggestions or constructive feedback that will improve outcome

•

Assist in development of global supply chain category management process and procedures as required

•

Coordinate and lead supplier meetings as required

•

Ensure all actions are in accordance with Seadrill’s corporate policies and procedures

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE Essential

•

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, sharePoint).Fluent in the use of spend management tracking technology tools such as Power BI and Oracle Procurement with a strong understanding of how the tools align with the directives and procedures they support.

•

Proven ability to drive category strategies across direct or indirect spend.

Desired

•

Knowledge of offshore drilling or energy industry procurement practices.

•

Certification such as CPSM, CIPS, or PMP preferred.

•

Experience implementing category management frameworks or supplier scorecards.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

•

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

•

5+ years of progressive experience in category management, strategic sourcing, or procurement leadership.
