JOB SUMMARY

The Head of Category Management is responsible for leading Seadrill’s global category strategies and supplier relationship programs across key spend areas. This individual will manage a team of Category Managers and the Vendor Master Program, fostering collaboration, consistency, and operational excellence throughout the organization.

As a member of the Global Supply Chain leadership team, the Head of Category Management will ensure that sourcing initiatives align with the company’s strategic objectives, deliver optimal value, and drive total cost of ownership efficiencies while ensuring compliance with all internal and external requirements.

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Define and lead the implementation of global category management strategies across all key spend areas.
Align sourcing and category initiatives with organizational objectives and supply chain transformation goals.
Manage the Category Management team and Vendor Master Program, providing strategic guidance, development, and performance oversight.
Develop and institutionalize supplier relationship and performance management frameworks including key vendor Quarterly Business Reviews.
Drive supplier consolidation, standardization, and continuous improvement in partnership with key internal stakeholders.
Cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, including but not limited to senior management, technical services, and key departments as end users.
Negotiate and oversee major global agreements ensuring cost efficiency, legal compliance, and performance guarantees.
Champion the use of data and analytics in category planning using tools like Power BI, Oracle Procurement, and other applicable tools.
Monitor market trends and adjust category strategies accordingly to maintain competitive advantage.
Ensure that global master service agreements and contract repositories are accurate and transparent.
Coach and develop Category Managers to enhance strategic sourcing capabilities and cross- functional collaboration.
Support career development pathways for team members, setting clear objectives and conducting formal performance evaluations.
Foster a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and forward thinking in alignment with Seadrill’s Behavioral Framework.
Lead or support internal and external audits relevant to category and vendor management functions.
Support the development and continuous improvement of category management processes and procedures.
Ensure full compliance with Seadrill’s Code of Conduct, FCPA, Sarbanes-Oxley, and other regulatory and policy requirements.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, related field, or relevant experience.
10+ years’ experience in supply chain or procurement, with at least 5 years in a strategic sourcing or category management leadership role.
Must pass drug screen and background check.


Preferred

Certification in supply chain disciplines (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, APICS) is a plus.
