to join our team as a Business Development Manager! In this role, you’ll work closely with regional leadership and internal teams to drive client engagement and generate new business opportunities. This role is responsible for building strong client relationships through innovative solutions. Key responsibilities will be leading proposal development, managing a sales pipeline, delivering reports while supporting strategic partnerships and providing insights on market trends. The ideal candidate thrives independently, demonstrates high integrity, and brings creative thinking to complex challenges.
Successful candidate will reside in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Nebraska, and Kansas for frequent travel within the territory.

- Partner with regional BD and program management teams to schedule client meetings and drive new opportunities
- Manage sales pipelines from discovery to implementation; deliver weekly updates to BD VP and Executive team
- Leverage a strong energy-sector network; maintain key relationships across corporate, government, and community sectors
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine Residential and C&I program designs, including hard-to-reach segments
- Cultivate client and partner relationships; identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Lead and advise on Demand Side Management (DSM), Demand Response (DR), Beneficial Electrification (BE) proposals and budgets with regional teams and Subject Matter Experts
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to develop and present compelling value propositions to clients, and to create client-facing materials.
- Provide internal insights on market trends, competitors, and emerging technologies
- Evaluate and engage in financially viable energy market opportunities
- Offer strategic guidance on BD initiatives, including RFPs, partnerships, and market entry strategies
- Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time or as needed to support business development initiatives and client relationships.
- 4- 6 years of professional experience in business development or sales or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Proficient in digital tools, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)
- Experience with business development, proposal writing, CRM automation software, and emerging digital technologies
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen, with a proven ability to align market development efforts with overarching business goals
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to transform data into actionable insights and strategies
