Reports To: Director of Business Development Company: Virtus Renewables

The Business Development Manager will support Virtus Renewables’ growth strategy by cultivating customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, and supporting service alignment with client needs. This role will report directly to the Director of Business Development and serve as a key contributor to the company’s expansion in the solar and energy storage markets.
This position involves cross-functional collaboration, proposal development, and engagement with a wide array of industry stakeholders. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in the renewable energy industry, exceptional communication skills, and a drive to build long-term client partnerships.
- Client Engagement: Support and develop relationships with solar and energy storage developers, EPCs, and asset owners to understand their priorities and provide tailored solutions that create long-term value.
- Proposal Development: Assist in preparing proposals and responses to customer procurement requests, ensuring that technical and commercial elements meet client expectations and internal capabilities.
- Market Research & Strategy: Research market trends, project pipelines, and customer profiles to help shape regional and national business development strategies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including Operations, Engineering, and Finance, to align proposals with delivery capabilities and strategic goals.
- CRM & Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate records of opportunities, client interactions, and proposal timelines using internal CRM tools.
- Event & Trade Show Support: Represent Virtus at conferences, trade shows, and client meetings as needed.
- After-Sales Support: Coordinate with operations to ensure smooth onboarding of new clients and support the implementation of long-term service agreements.
- 4–7 years of experience in the solar or renewable energy sector, preferably with a focus on O&M, storage, or EPC services.
- Strong knowledge of the utility-scale project lifecycle and industry procurement processes.
- Proven experience with proposal coordination, market development, or account management.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Financial and commercial acumen related to service pricing, proposal structuring, and customer ROI.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Pipedrive).
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% based on project and client needs.
