Branch Quality Specialist

The Branch Quality Specialist is responsible for supporting, monitoring, maintaining and administering the quality management processes for assigned A. M. Castle & Co. location which would include Auditing Data Analysis, and Process Improvement of the Quality Systems.

Compensation: $50 - $60k + incentive eligible

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Essential Primary Responsibilities:

- Maintains various components of local quality program related to data analysis, systems evaluations, and product assessment.

- Documents quality issues and performance measures for leadership review. Recommends new methods and processes.

- Performs audits and evaluation of workflow, work methods, and procedures on an ongoing basis and initiates corrective action and process improvements where appropriate.

- Manages and maintain the Quality Process / Quality System assigned site(s).

- Acts as local quality representative and provides support for compliance audits.

- Serves as a quality resource for the location(s) during internal audits of AS and ISO.

- Coordinates and responds to customer quality problems and audits. Maintains customer approvals for the location - supports and implements requirements.

- Acts as a facilitator for problem solving, corrective action, and quality initiatives. Communicates findings to both internal and external customers.

- Maintains records and reports on the status of the Quality Process for all departments and/or locations.

- Assures that employees receive required quality or other training as assigned.

- Provides product technical and product quality control support.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

- General office environment, PC use

- Minimal travel may be required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Experience: Type, Skills, and Years:

- Two years of progressive quality system and customer quality systems experience

- Understanding of AS9100 and ISO9001 requirements

- Advanced verbal and written communication skills

- Leadership skills

- Advanced computer skills including knowledge of Oracle Systems, BI / SQL Tools, MS Office Suite, Microsoft Excel, Visio, and Microsoft Project

- Knowledge and experience with monitoring and measurement tools

- Ability to think analytically and solve problems

- Able to interpret drawings and specifications

Required Education:

- High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

- Quality auditor training and experience

- Experience in AS9100 or ISO 9001 in a metals environment or manufacturing environment

- Customer DQR certifications, (ex: UTC, PW, Sikorsky)

- Bachelor’s degree

- College coursework in Communication, Engineering, Industrial Management
