HSPP is currently seeking an experienced Brake Press Operator. We are looking for someone who has at least 5 years or more experience, working with steel plate is essential. The chosen candidate must possess heavy plate custom press forming experience. We are looking for team players; HSPP works as a team to get our products to our customers. - Operate our brake presses, including its CNC back gauge and CNC controller, and related crane and lifting equipment in a safe, professional and efficient manner following all safety guidelines currently in place or as implemented
- Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring tapes, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers.
- Examine completed work pieces for defects such as chipped edges and marred surfaces, and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws.
- Read work orders, engineering drawings to determine specifications such as dies, and or punches to be used, locations of bending lines, dimensions and tolerances.
- Load and support work pieces using overhead crane and other lifting devices.
- Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustment and repairs
- Set up, operate or tend machines to form, bend, bump form, straighten or flatten steel plate or parts.
- Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
- Test and adjust machine parameters and actions, according to product specifications, and using gauges and hand tools.
- Install, align, and lock specified punches, dies, cutting blades or other fixtures in rams or beds of machines, using gauges, templates, feelers, shims and hand tools.
- Position, align and secure work pieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or one dies.
- At least 5 years or more experience as a Brake Press Operator
- Experience working with steel plate (variety of steel grades an asset)
- Experience with crane operation
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Mechanical and mathematical aptitude
- Experience using various measuring tools and small power tools
- Heavy lifting required up to 43lbs
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
