- High school diploma (preferred) or GED. Two years of technical school training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advance level requires three or more years of experience. Previous experience as a press brake operator in precision sheet metal industry (desired).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Press Brake Operator:
- Set up and operate press brake, including changing dies, setting stops, and adjusting components for multiple or successive passes
- Install, align, and secure dies, gears, and fixtures using precision tools and hand instruments
- Plan and execute metal forming operations based on material properties and job specifications
- Inspect and measure workpieces using micrometers, templates, and other precision tools to ensure accuracy and quality
- Perform hand forming, finishing, and deburring; preheat materials and handle related tasks as required to complete production
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of machines, tools, raw materials, production processes, and quality control standards.
- Read and interpret basic blueprints; follow written and verbal instructions accurately to complete tasks independently and on schedule.
- Operate and monitor machinery, adjusting controls and indicators to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Identify and select appropriate tools and equipment; apply spatial awareness and manual dexterity in machine operation and part handling.
- Lift heavy objects (50+ lbs) and consistently uphold and enforce workplace safety regulations and best practices.Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
