Brief Description
The
Benefits Managerat Consolidated Asset Management Services (CAMS) oversees the strategic design, administration, and compliance of employee benefits programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and employee needs. This role supports a diverse workforce by managing health, retirement, and wellness plans, while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including government reporting requirements. The Benefits Manager collaborates with HR leadership, vendors, and employees to deliver competitive, cost-effective benefits that enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Benefits Program Management: Design, evaluate, and administer comprehensive employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and 401(k) plans.
- Enrollment and Support: Streamline benefits enrollment processes, guide employees through enrollment and changes, and resolve inquiries by interpreting policies and collaborating with vendors.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, HIPAA) by preparing and submitting required government reports, such as Form 5500, ACA filings, and nondiscrimination testing.
- Recordkeeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate benefits records, update systems for new hires and changes, and document processes in a comprehensive benefits administration guide. Provide cross-training to HR team members.
- Vendor and Financial Management: Approve billing statements, reconcile benefits accounts, and manage vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective and high-quality service delivery.
- Employee Communication: Develop clear, engaging communications to educate employees on benefits options and updates, fostering transparency and trust.
- Regulatory Monitoring: Stay informed on legislative changes affecting benefits, advise leadership on compliance requirements, and implement necessary policy updates.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Compile and analyze benefits data to produce reports on utilization, trends, and program effectiveness for leadership decision-making.
- Professional Development: Enhance expertise through workshops, professional networks, and industry publications to maintain cutting-edge knowledge in benefits administration.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years in HR with a focus on benefits administration.- Certifications: Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to present to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- Deep knowledge of HR best practices, benefits regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Analytical mindset with financial acumen for budgeting and cost analysis.
- High professionalism, discretion, and a customer-focused attitude.
Summary
Applicants must possess a
valid driver's licenseand maintain a clean driving record, as this position requires occasional travel for company business. Candidates should be comfortable operating a vehicle as part of their job responsibilities and must meet any applicable company and insurance requirements.
