Job Title: Batch Copper Coat Operator
Position Overview: A copper coating operator is responsible for managing the coating process, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring quality control. Their tasks include prepping surfaces, adjusting settings, monitoring equipment, and inspecting finishes. They must have good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with other operators and supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparing Surfaces, mixing coating materials
- Operating coating machinery
- Conducting quality control inspections
- Perform routine checks of bath concentrations, charting results and making bath adjustments as needed.
- Perform basic maintenance of copper coat equipment
- Read work orders/bill of materials to determine product specifications
- Responsible for quantity and quality to meet efficiency rates
- Use and maintain various types of equipment and machinery
- Reporting/communicating machinery issues to supervisor/maintenance
- Inspect products to ensure product excellence and quality
- Use of forklifts, cranes, and hand carts to load/unload machines and to move material to and from machines
- Record and document production as well as all downtime
- Ensure and observe all safety and housekeeping rules and guidelines, including carrying out daily safety inspections
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Inspect material during processing to ensure proper quality is maintained
- Complete all documentation and turn in the work order to the supervisor
- Train new operators
- Cut samples for quality control
- Work in a fast-paced environment
- Work in confined spaces
- Complete all assigned training, including monthly health and safety sessions
- Other duties as assigned
- Monitor wire quality
- Read SDS’s to familiarized with chemicals used
- Authorize to request the initiation of an internal corrective action
- Place material on hold, if necessary, stop production when nonconforming wire is found
- Focus on machines that need constant attention
- Work in various temperature environments
- Work in a dusty environment
- Work overtime as required.
- Assist production manager and other operators as necessary
- Ability to communicate – verbal and written.
- Ability to perform basic math functions with accuracy.
- Basic computer skills for data entry purposes
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Forklift experience preferred
- 1-2 years in industrial machinery
