Overall responsibility for providing the automation/controls design of natural gas, hydrocarbon, and industrial projects. Assist in the design and implementation of assigned projects. Coordinate with other managers, engineers, designers and drafters in completing project assignments.
Responsibilities
- Provide automation/controls design for small projects, with oversight from more experienced engineers and personnel, with the ability to adapt to changes in scope and design
- Perform design and implementation activity based on project estimated hours and schedule
- Assist in the Preparation of engineering FEED studies
- Ensure all Bi-Con Engineering and client specifications and standards are understood and followed
- Exercise resourcefulness and ingenuity to resolve technical issues
- Design and generate project drawings
- Prepare project deliverables, including drawings, electrical calculations, programming
- Provide project testing and commissioning support, both from office and on-site.
- Preferred experience: Associate Engineer and 0 - 2 years’ experience, or Engineer without E.I. AND 0 - 1 year experience
- A minimum associate’s degree in engineering technology; a bachelor degree a plus.
- Thorough understanding of the NEC, IEEE, ISA and other related standards
- A working knowledge of Hazardous Area classification using API and AGA standards
- Proficient use of Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite required
- Working knowledge of Rockwell Automation programming software.
- Good communication and analytical skills are also required
