CVEC is looking for a Supply Team Associate in our Division Warehouse in Appomattox, VA. This position is responsible for maintaining an effective working inventory of materials and tools for utility construction and maintenance activities; coordinating and filling work orders and other related warehouse and administrative duties.
Position Requirements Include: HS diploma; four years of storeroom operations experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid Virginia Driver's License. Applicants must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; as well as the ability to utilize various software programs.
Preferred Requirements Include: Experience in the interpretation of construction drawings and/or map reading. One year of college or technical school. Utility construction experience
Hourly Rate of Pay: $22.00 - $25.00/hour DOE
- Receives vendor shipped materials, verifies accuracy of quantity and product in accord with purchase order and shipping documents, inspects shipment for damages or defects, enters receipts into the computer inventory management system, stores the material on the designated warehouse shelf, shed, or storage yard by use of forklift, pallet jack and/or hand truck, rotate stock as needed. Schedules and provides escort to jobsite delivery locations as required.
Prepares items for outgoing transport. Crates, packs, and labels outgoing shipments. Contacts carriers to schedule and arrange pick up. Prepares and verifies all shipping documents.
Work order material planning, preparing, filling, processing, and reconciling. Daily review of released work orders. Analyze anticipated construction schedule by communication with Division Superintendent and computer systems. Review stock levels to assure adequate inventory for scheduled work. Request and order material to meet scheduled construction demand. Review staking sheets and Bill of Materials for job accuracy. Generate pick list from computer systems and fill work order by pulling and staging required materials for job. Charge out material assigned to the job in the inventory management system. Make changes and modifications as required from the field. Upon completion, review work order with Foreman reconciling as built staking sheets with material charges. Complete processing of work order in computer systems and forward paperwork to appropriate persons.
Transformer supply management. Take bi-weekly count of transformer stock by type and size. Perform detailed annual inventory of transformers by size, type, CVEC stock number, and manufacturer's serial number. Handle sale and disposal of surplus transformer, collecting tracking data, loading, and processing paperwork. Develop and maintain an ongoing spreadsheet of transformer inventory by CVEC company and serial numbers.
Tool stocking, ordering, issuing, and repairing. Maintain adequate stock levels of hand tools, personal protective equipment, truck tools, and equipment to fulfill the daily needs of personnel. Issuing of tools in accordance with tool requisition forms and procedures. Supply new employees with all basic tools needed in accordance with safety manual. Reorder and replenish tool stock to establish stock levels. Contact, coordinate, and ship all tools in need of repairs to appropriate manufacturer's repair shops. Supply new trucks with necessary tool requirements.
Conducts weekly, monthly and annual inventory of construction materials. Weekly and monthly inventory spot check counts taken to verify on going accuracy of physical to computer stock levels. Variances are researched and discrepancies corrected through work order charge adjustments if needed. Complete physical inventory taken annually. Pre-counts of warehouse items are taken. Differences are researched and corrected where possible in preparation for the physical inventory. Physical inventory counts are completed as scheduled, counts are entered into the computer inventory management system, over/short reports run, recounts are taken on major variances, and all count sheets and paperwork turned in.
Transfers materials to and from division warehouses to supply work order needs and/or to balance inventory between divisions. Enters transferred items and quantities into the computer system and completes paperwork. Drives truck as needed to accomplish task.
Operates warehouse and material storage areas in accordance with all safety guidelines. Keeps floors clear of clutter, stores and organizes material in an orderly manner. Daily inspects and operates forklift to safety standards. Maintains forklift certification.
Disposes of junked and defective stock, scrap, and waste. Maintains scrap metals bin for sale to salvage vendor. Loads and hauls unusable junk to the landfill for disposal. Assist members with cutting up and loading of old junked poles.
Rubber goods personal protective equipment. Maintain up to date employee list of those needing gloves and sleeves with size and type needed, and accurate truck stock levels. Count and prepare rubber goods for shipment to test facility, including all necessary paperwork for proper replenishment levels. Assures shipments are sent in a timely manner for adequate cycle time in accordance with OSHA and VMDA safety accreditation standards. Maintains adequate reserve stock for new employees, damages and losses. After testing and return of rubber goods, verify accurate quantities and test date information, prepare for issuing to line personnel and their trucks.
Distributes meterbases to contractors and the general public.
Transports material to line crews in the field as required.
Orders, stores, issues, and supplies MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) items as needed for operational efficiency.
