Auto Spin Machine Operator

Job Summary

METCOM Inc. in Cookeville, TN is seeking an Auto Spin Machine Operator. An ASM operator operates automated machinery designed to perform folding, pushing, and extrusion operations while meeting company production, quality, and safety standards.

Essential Job Functions

The Auto Spin Machine Operator must meet and maintain production standards within company guidelines by performing the following essential functions:

- Start, stop, and safely shut down machinery as required

- Select, load, and run the correct program for the part being produced

- Load blanks, remove finished parts, and visually inspect parts for defects and cleanliness

- Identify tooling, setup, and program-related issues and make appropriate corrections

- Follow the quality control plan by measuring parts, recording data in the ASM QA Log (QAS), and collecting required samples for QA inspection

- Perform all tooling changeovers and machine setups independently

- Change and/or replace machine components required for spinning operations

- Read and interpret blueprints, job cards, work orders, standard charts, and special instructions

- Meet or exceed efficiency and productivity standards for each job

- Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with team members

Qualifications

- Proven experience operating automated manufacturing equipment such as auto spin machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or stamping presses within a manufacturing facility

- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in tooling setup, fabrication processes, and materials handling

- Ability to use precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers accurately for quality control purposes

- Experience with manufacturing safety procedures

- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during setup and troubleshooting

- Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts is a plus but not mandatory

Pay: $16.00 per hour
