Associate - Public Improvement Construction

Overview

The Associate will provide entry level support to the organization with relevant education and experience for useful contributions to the department. Provide support for the analysis of data from various sources relating to contractor oversight, administration, payment and accruals. Provide administrative support to the Construction Manager, Project Specialist, Senior Specialist, & Chief Construction Inspectors in the department.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

- CUSTOMER FOCUS: Demonstrate a strong commitment to both internal and external customers by fostering a proactive, customer-centric culture that builds trust, enhances confidence, and delivers value to all stakeholders.

- SAFETY & HEALTH: Ensure the implementation and enforcement of company safety, health, and environmental programs. Promote safe work practices and environmental protection in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.

- OPERATIONAL SUPPORT: Provide administrative support for invoicing, payments, and data-related tasks. Collaborate with the Construction Manager and Project Specialist to streamline and improve these processes.

- FIELD ENGAGEMENT: Participate in at least two field visits per month with an experienced CCI or Senior Specialist to gain operational knowledge. Conduct Job Site Safety Evaluations (JSSEs) during each visit and identify opportunities for improvement.

- KNOWLEDGE SHARING: After six months in the EP role, meet with the Construction Manager and Project Specialist to review operational knowledge and discuss key safety learnings from field experiences.

- ROLE FLEXIBILITY: Be prepared to temporarily fill in for CCI roles when deemed appropriate by the Construction Manager, demonstrating adaptability and readiness to support team needs.

- PROCESS MONITORING: Engage in monthly meetings with the Construction Manager and Project Specialist to review progress toward fulfilling all responsibilities and ensure alignment with expectations.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience

- Bachelor's Degree and Minimum one year, which includes cumulative work experience or equivalent internship/co-op experience, or six months of Con Edison co-op or internship experience or

- Master's Degree and Minimum one year, which includes cumulative work experience or equivalent internship/co-op experience, or six months of Con Edison co-op or internship experience.

Relevant Work Experience

- Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products, required.

Licenses and Certifications

- Driver's License Required

Physical Demands

- Sit or stand to answer a phone for the duration of the workday

- Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday

- Ability to stoop, bend, reach, and kneel throughout the workday

- Stand to use/operate office equipment for the duration of the workday

- Ability to read small print and symbols

Additional Physical Demands

- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

- Must be willing and able to travel within Company service territory and supplier locations, some of which may require overnight travel.

- Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
