Assists with the land responsibilities associated with mineral/royalty acquisition with the close supervision and mentoring of a Division Landman or Land Manager.
- Negotiates, drafts, reviews, and amends agreements, conveyances, letters, and other contracts, subject to Vice President or Division Landman approval.
- Interacts with and manages various problems with mineral owners, brokers, and third parties.
- Reviews, evaluates, and assimilates newly acquired properties for development opportunities.
- Advises and coordinates with other departments as to development of properties.
- Investigates and approves title requirements for mineral acquisition.
- Coordinates with outside Landmen on acquisition of minerals and agreements from mineral owners.
- Manages and tracks acquisition, closing, and post-closing processes.
- Administers payment for new mineral purchases and confirms associated documentation for accuracy.
- Prepares prospect summary report for acquisition/divestment purposes.
- Reviews and monitors development of all company properties.
- Adheres to the company’s values – integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment and innovation.
- Supports company vision and mission.
- Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
- Houston Office based with no remote working options.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible training as a Land Tech or entry-level Landman with an established oil and gas company.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities without close supervision.
- Outstanding organizational skills. Working knowledge of oil and gas laws, rules, and regulations of the respective state.
- Working knowledge of geology, engineering, accounting, and regulatory responsibilities as they apply to the oil and gas industry. Excellent negotiation skills with intra/inter-company personnel.
Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
- Required: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Preferred: SAP, Quorum, ArcGIS, and Power BI
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Business from an accredited four-year university or college.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Land/Energy Management from an accredited four-year university.
