We are seeking an experienced Landman to join our team who will be responsible for efficiently pulling requested documents from courthouses across various West Texas counties. This role will also require the ability to run full section title covering minerals, surface, and leasehold across various basins in the US. Must be local to Midland, Texas or the surrounding area.
- Travel to multiple West Texas county courthouses to locate and review legal documents
- Perform comprehensive title searches and examinations
- Efficiently run title and identify potential title defects
- Review deeds, leases, probate records, and other relevant legal documents
- Prepare detailed title reports and abstracts
- Maintain accurate records of research findings
- Coordinate with attorneys, landowners, and other stakeholders as needed
- Utilize web-based title databases for research and verification
- Minimum 2 years of experience running title in Texas
- Must be located in Midland, Texas or the surrounding area
- Strong knowledge of Texas property law and title procedures
- Proficiency with web-based title databases and research platforms
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for courthouse travel
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor's degree preferred with Energy Management degree a plus
- Additional experience in oil and gas title work
- Familiarity with West Texas county records systems
- Experience with GIS mapping software
- Professional landman certification (RPL, CPL)
