The Platforms, Technologies, and NPI group at Solar Turbines is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Electrical Design Engineer to contribute to the development of control systems for turbomachinery packages. This role operates within a dynamic, fast-paced engineering environment and leverages agile development methodologies to drive profitable growth and deliver exceptional value to our customers.

The Electrical Design Engineer is a key member of the design team, demonstrating the ability to rapidly assess complex challenges and engineer creative, effective solutions. This individual is a strategic thinker with a strong grasp of system-level design, capable of translating high-level requirements into detailed, actionable engineering tasks. The role requires a balance of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused mindset to ensure our products meet the highest standards of functionality, quality, and safety.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, and other cross-functional team members to interpret business and design requirements, assess their impact on system architecture, and drive execution through well-defined deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

- Developing Electrical Loop Schematics (ELS) and control system layouts.

- Specify and source electrical components, size cables, and ensure compliance with design standards and system needs.

- Create bills of material and documentation to support manufacturing, testing, and field deployment.

- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to support system integration.

- Participate in design reviews and learn industry standards and best practices.

- Drive continuous improvement in design processes and documentation.

- Engage with Supply Chain, Operations, and Field teams to understand product deployment.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

- Familiarity with electrical design tools (e.g., Promis-e or similar)

- Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Internship or co-op experience in an engineering environment

- Exposure to gas turbine systems or industrial equipment

- Basic understanding of NEC, CE directives, or machinery standards

- Experience with control systems (PLC5, RSLogix) through coursework or internship

- Familiarity with Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)

Summary Pay Range:

$70,944.00 - $106,416.00
