Balfour Beatty is looking to add an Assistant VDC (virtual design and construction) Manager for our Richmond office. This role entails working with the Construction Technology Department, located in Richmond and Northern Virginia. The primary work location will be Richmond, VA, however job site visits may be required to the Tidewater VA area.
The primary role of the Assistant VDC Manager is to assist in the successful implementation of BIM (building information modeling), technology and related processes and serve as an expert resource to a project team during both Preconstruction and Operations phases of the project. The Assistant VDC Manager may also be involved in project pursuits and helps develop models and marketing materials related to technology.
The Assistant VDC Manager ensures project success by leading BIM workflows by being the integrator between Balfour Beatty, the client, end user, designers (architectural and engineering firms) and subcontractors. The top priority of the Assistant VDC Manager is ensuring the proper implementation of BIM and technology processes within our project teams to meet the project needs and requirements.
B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, Design or related years of experience in the implementation of BIM/technology, operations, 3D MEP Coordination or related roles. Experienced and familiar with team-based delivery and collaboration. Demonstrates leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, solve problems, and motivate others, while exceeding expectations of clients.
Minimum Requirements: 3+ years of experience (or internships) and a degree in Construction, Design or Engineering related fields. Looking for someone who has had exposure to or interest in 3D Modeling, AI, and Technology.
Preferred Requirements: Experience in Data Center and/or Federal work.
