As we are continuously growing, we are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our passionate team.

POSITION DETAILS

As a key member of our project management team, you will support the planning and execution of access construction projects from start to finish. This role combines project coordination responsibilities with hands-on field work, geospatial mapping, and estimating support. You’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, field teams, and clients to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct field walkdowns to gather site-specific data related to access, terrain, and environmental conditions.

- Create accurate site maps using ArcGIS based on data collected from walkdowns, engineering plans, and customer specifications.

- Assist in developing project estimates by analyzing site logistics, material needs, and labor requirements.

- Support project planning and scheduling by preparing timelines, coordinating deliverables, and tracking milestones.

- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff to ensure alignment between site conditions and project requirements.

- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including proposals, work plans, drawings, and contracts.

- Facilitate clear communication between internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to support project execution.

- Monitor project progress, flag issues that may impact timelines or costs, and assist in developing solutions.

- Use GIS tools and software to streamline workflows and visualize project data for decision-making.

- Adapt to changing project needs and support a variety of field and office-based tasks as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

At Dakota, we take on and execute some of the most challenging access projects in the country. To help us successfully execute our projects, we are looking for a Staff Accountant with these qualifications:

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography or a related field; applicable years of experience may be applied for degree requirement.

Skills:

- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and apply basic estimating principles.

- Interest in geospatial mapping; familiarity with ArcGIS is a plus, but training will be provided.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to collect and analyze site-specific data during walkdowns.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to interface effectively with field crews, clients and stakeholders.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

- Proficient in project management software and tools such as Microsoft Office Suite

- Comfortable working in both field and office environments, with willingness to travel to project sites as needed Strong leadership skills

- Valid driver’s license required.
